Statement from the U.S.-Japan Caucus on the Earthquake in Japan

WASHINGTON — Today, U.S.-Japan Congressional Caucus chairs Joaquin Castro (TX-20) and Adrian Smith (NE-03) issued the following statement in response to the deadly earthquake that struck Japan on January 1, 2024:
“The U.S.-Japan Caucus sends our support and solidarity to the people of Japan as they grapple with the impact of yesterday’s devastating earthquake. As Japanese authorities continue to search for survivors, we are praying for all those affected by this disaster. We stand ready to do everything within our power to help our Japanese friends and allies in their time of need."
