"Japan is one of the top sources of foreign direct investment in the United States, and our strong economic partnership is a robust source of growth and prosperity for both our countries," said Congressman Joaquin Castro. "During last week's meeting, I was glad to hear about key areas of interest for senior business leaders in Japan, including new investments in clean energy production and Texas-based manufacturing. I look forward to our ongoing conversations about pathways to expand economic and people-to-people ties between our nations."
"Japan is a valuable economic partner and strategic ally. As co-chair of the U.S.-Japan Caucus, I am committed to promoting cooperation between our nations. This discussion with Keidanren business leaders provided an opportunity to advance the conversation around trade and greater collaboration. By leaning into these opportunities, we can strengthen supply chains, benefit American consumers, and increase market access for American businesses," said Congressman Adrian Smith.
"We very much appreciate the Co-Chairs of the Congressional U.S.-Japan Caucus for hosting a meeting with the Keidanren delegation during our visit to Washington D.C.," said Keidanren delegation member Tetsuo Ogawa, President & CEO of Toyota Motor North America, Inc. "The delegation's visit was part of Keidanren's ongoing efforts to further strengthen relations between Japan and the United States. We were able to have a very fruitful discussion with the Caucus members regarding Japanese companies' economic contributions to the U.S., and the importance of U.S. engagement and leadership in the Indo-Pacific. We very much look forward to continuing our close relationship with the Caucus."
