U.S.-Japan Congressional Caucus Welcomes Japanese Business Leaders to U.S. Capitol with Ambassador Yamada

WASHINGTON, DC – On September 2, U.S.-Japan Caucus Co-Chairs Joaquin Castro (TX-20) and Adrian Smith (NE-03) joined Ambassador Shigeo Yamada, Ambassador of Japan to the United States, for a reception hosted by the Embassy of Japan to celebrate the U.S.-Japan alliance. Members of the Japan Commerce Association of Washington DC and the Keidanren (Japan Business Federation) were also in attendance to highlight the robust economic ties between our two nations.

"I was pleased to welcome Yamada to the Capitol and celebrate the friendship and alliance between our two nations,” said Co-Chair Castro. “The U.S.-Japan alliance is essential to our shared stability and prosperity. In addition, Japanese companies have a strong presence in Texas and throughout the United States—investing in local communities, creating jobs, and fueling innovation. I look forward to strengthening the U.S.-Japan relationship to advance our shared values and economic partnership.”

The reception was also attended by Japanese business leaders representing companies such as Sony, Tokyo Electric Power Company, Toyota, ANA, the Bank of Japan, NEC, and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.
